Zetterberg Endorses Zetterbergfan.com

Zetterberg Endorses Zetterbergfan.com

“Hey! This is my website!” That is what Henrik Zetterberg exclaimed when handed a color copy of zetterbergfan.com’s homepage to autograph.

The Deroit Redwings sophomore center was doing an autograph signing at The Sports Stop in Fenton, MI on Saturday, February 28th, 2004.

Unable to attend due to being stationed in Hawaii, I contacted fellow members at Redwingsworld.com and put out a request for someone to obtain the autograph for me.

Dara Pirtle (a.k.a. “Lady In Red”), a member at Redwings, World volunteered to help.  Dara explained to Henrik that I was a big fan and unable to come myself because I am in the Navy.

Zetterberg already knew of the website and was reportedly excited when he saw the printed page. He thought it was really cool according to another fans account of the signing.

Zetterberg’s first hand knowledge and appreciation of the fan site became known when Edmund Chu, the President of  Ramp Management ( a Toronto based marketing company that created henrikzetterberg.com, Henrik’s official website) contacted me in early February to compliment my site. “I just like your content from a fan’s perspective and so does Henrik”, stated Mr. Chu. I have contacted the writer for the official site and inquired about possibly doing an interview with Zetterberg in the future.

Hank’s appreciation of Zetterbergfan.com was confirmed a few days after the autograph signing when a local media member asked him about it at practice. Zetterberg said he liked the site, that I had a lot of stuff on it, and that I was doing a good job. That’s pretty high praise from someone who is not very talkative.
Obviously, this is very exciting for me!

I wanted to share the story with Henrik’s fans and to let you know that he is very humble, friendly, and grateful for his fans. Thank you very much, Henrik, for the autograph and your appreciation of this website. I appreciate what you do for the Redwings on the ice and respect your professionalism and dedication to the fans. I hope to someday meet you myself but until then I want to wish you the best of luck this season and for your career in Detroit.

There has been a recent buzz about the recent re-launching of HenrikZetterberg.com in both the Detroit and the National media. The Detroit Red Wings star forward, who leads the NHL in goals and total points through the first 13 games of the season, has collaborated with Rinkside Promotion AB, a marketing company based in Sundsvall Sweden, to launched his own web site, for the primary purpose of promoting his signature sports collection.

According to a press release by Rinkside Promotion, “The collection consists of leisure and sports wear inspired by the relaxed style that is Zetterberg's trademark.” He has been active in the design and testing of each product in close collaboration with Rinkside Promotion AB, which is managing both production and sales.

“The opportunity to develop and market the new collection together with Henrik and to help make an already strong brand even stronger, both in Sweden and the United States has been really stimulating,” said Jan Jutbo, CEO of Sweden-based Rinkside Production AB.
Zetterberg had this to say about the clothing line, “My entire collection is a tribute to my fans and an exciting off-ice project for me.”

The History of collaboration between HenrikZetterberg.com and Zetterbergfan.com

Henrik’s official web site, HenrikZetterberg.com, was originally launched in early 2004, almost two years after Zetterbergfan.com. At the time, it was managed by Ramp Management Group, a Canadian marketing company. In February 2004, Edmund Chu, President of Ramp Management, e-mailed me requesting to use content that I had developed for Zetterbergfan.com. “I just like your content from a fan's perspective and so does Henrik,” said Chu. After its initial release the material was not updated and remained that way for several years, until this September.

The new version of HenrikZetterberg.com, under Rinkside Promotion is vastly superior to its original content. It features the webshop which sells Henrik’s merchandise, as well as exclusive Podcast interviews.

Just as the original release of HenrikZetterberg.com did, the latest version of the web site has utilized contributions from Zetterbergfan.com, including , chronology, and biographical information. I was original contacted by Rinkside Promotion’s Kristiina Tönissoo on August 2, 2007 asking to use my content and also to link to my site.

Kristiina added, “PS. Henrik likes Your site!!!”

Recently Jan Jutbo, CEO of Rinkside Promotion AB, e-mailed me letting me know that he has been working closely with Henrik and that the would like to send me an autographed poster for all the great work I am doing with (Zetterbergfan.com) and the material that was good for (HenrikZetterberg.com). I received the gift yesterday and it is pictured here along with the e-mail and business card from Mr. Jutbo, as well as the shipping label from Sundsvall Sweden.

Having closely followed the career of Henrik Zetterberg since the day he was drafted by the Red Wings, I am obviously very excited about Henrik’s success as one of the most dominating players in the NHL over the past year. I am also very happy with the re-launching of his official website and very much look forward to the continued cooperation between HenrikZetterberg.com and Zetterbergfan.com.

Be sure to check out Henrik’s website, buy yourself some Z wear, and continue to visit Zetterbergfan.com for the source of the most in depth coverage and statistics for the Swedish superstar.
